The BMW X5 is a midsized SUV built in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The vehicle can accommodate seven passengers. When purchased new, the vehicles sold for $46,595 to $55,195. The 2007 model year was the first of a new design for the X5 line of vehicles.
Performance Basics
In the 2007 model year, BMW X5s were equipped with either a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder motor or a 4.8-liter V8. The six cylinder produced 260 horsepower. When fitted with a V8, which was rated at 350 horsepower, the X5 was capable of going from zero to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds.
Safety Features
All of the 2007 X5s are fitted with side airbags and side-curtain airbags. The vehicle is also outfitted with anti-lock disc brakes, a stability control system and a rollover sensor.
Professional Review
Although it questioned the X5s utility, the automotive review database Edmunds called the vehicle "simply one of the best-handling midsize luxury SUVs you can buy." "Car and Driver" magazine, in a review of the vehicles, praised BMW's updates in the 2007 model years as the "organic evolution of a good thing."
