2000 Chevy Blazer Specifications

The 2000 Chevrolet Blazer is a sport utility vehicle that came in three trims: the LS, LT and Trailblazer. All trims have a four-wheel anti-lock braking system, automatic locking hub control, driver and passenger front airbags, a trailing harness and two front tow hooks. The LS is the base model, without the panic alarm, tracker system, security system and power windows and locks of the LT and Trailblazer. The Trailblazer also has a HomeLink wireless control system, leather seats and automatic air-conditioning.

Engine and Transmission

    All three trims of the 2000 Blazer have a 4.3-liter V6 engine that produces 190 horsepower at 4,400 rpm and 250 ft.-lb. of torque at 2,800 rpm. The engine has a 100-amp alternator and a 525-amp battery with rundown protection.

    Blazers run on regular unleaded gasoline and most trims have a 17.5-gallon fuel tank, except the two-door LS, which has a 19-gallon tank. The Blazer gets about 16 mpg in the city and 20 to 23 mpg on the highway.

    The LT and Trailblazer have a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, and have either full-time four-wheel drive, or rear-wheel drive. The LS has either part-time four-wheel drive or full-time rear-wheel drive.

Suspension and Brakes

    The front suspension is a short- and long-arm type with torsion bars, coil springs, gas-pressurized shocks and an anti-roll bar. The rear suspension is leaf-type with leaf springs, gas-pressurized shocks and an anti-roll bar. The steering system is a recirculating-ball system. The Blazer has four-wheel disc brakes, with vented discs in the front.

Dimensions

    The LT, Trailblazer and the four-door version of the LS are 183.3 inches long, 67.8 inches wide and 64.3 inches high. The wheelbase is 107 inches and the cargo volume is 74.1 cubic feet. The two-door LS is 176.8 inches long, roughly the same width and height as the other trims, with a wheelbase of 101 inches. The cargo volume in the two-door is 66.9 cubic feet.

    In the front seat, all the Blazer trims, except the two-door LS, have 39.5 inches of headroom, 57.2 inches of shoulder room, 52 inches of hip room and 42.4 inches of legroom. The rear seats have 38.3 inches of headroom, 57.2 inches of shoulder room, 51.3 inches of hip room and 36.3 inches of legroom.

    The two-door LS has 39.6 inches of headroom, 57.7 inches of shoulder room, 52 inches of hip room and 42.4 inches of legroom. The rear seats have 38.3 inches of headroom, 55.6 inches of shoulder room, 40.5 inches of hip room and 35.6 inches of legroom.
