The 1995 Nissan Altima is part of the first generation of Altimas produced from 1993 to 1997. It's a mid-range car sandwiched between the economical Sentra and the high-end Maxima. Compared to the bulbous appearance of later models, the 1995 version's style and appearance were conservative.

Size and Appearance

The 1995 Altima sat on a mid-size 103.1-inch wheelbase and had a length of 180.5 inches. It was 55.9 inches tall and measured 67.1-inches wide. Its exterior styling was plain, although it featured side molding and modest chrome work. It seated five and featured front bucket seats. The upholstery was cloth.

Models

You may identify Altima models by letter designations: the bare-bones XE, the mid-range GXE, the sporty SE and the top-of-the-line GLE. Buyers could mix and match options, such as pinstriping, mud guards and other items, with any trim level.

Power

A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine was the only powerplant for the 1995 Altima. It displaced 2,398 cc and developed 150 horsepower and 154 foot-pounds of torque. Its compression ratio was 9.2-to-1. A five-speed manual transmission was common on the 1995 models, but the upscale GLE usually had a four-speed automatic.
