Overview

The 1993 Chevrolet Corvette marked the sports car's 50th anniversary. A special edition 405-horsepower ZR-1 engine commemorated the anniversary, but the base model featured the standard 300-horsepower V8.

Power

    The 1993 Corvette convertible and coupe came equipped with a 5.7-liter (350 cubic inches) V8 engine, which develops a 10.5 to1 compression ratio to garner 300 horsepower. The torque is rated at 340 ft.-lbs. The bore and stroke are 4 inches and 3.48 inches, respectively. A six-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic transmission delivers the power to the wheels. The Corvette's fuel efficiency is 17 mpg in the city and 25 in highway driving.

Dimensions

    The 1993 model sits on a tight 96.2-inch wheelbase and is 178.5 inches from nose to rear bumper. It's low slung at only 47.3 inches tall. The car contains a 20-gallon fuel tank.

Amenities

    Standard equipment on the 1993 model includes air conditioning, power windows and locks and driver's side front airbag. Options include leather seats, removable roof panels on the coupe and a CD audio system. The base price for the coupe in 1993 was $34,595.
