Honda's FourTrax Rancher ATV is also known by the model number TRX350. The FourTrax Rancher 350 is classified by Honda as a utility ATV, designed specifically for the types of rough terrain encountered during backwoods jobs. By contrast, Honda's sport ATVs are meant for recreation and racing. Honda issued a recall on the Rancher TRX350 in late 2000 for the possibility of an improperly welded mounting bracket on the front suspension.

Engine and Power

The 2000 Honda Rancher 350 is powered by a 329-cc, air-cooled engine with an overhead valve configuration meant to minimize its footprint. Bore and stroke measure 3.09 inches and 2.67 inches, respectively. The engine is paired with a five-speed transmission including reverse and ultra-low first gears, and an automatic, heavy-duty clutch. The ATV also features an electric starter with auxiliary recoil.

Suspension, Brakes and Exhaust

The 2000 FourTrax Rancher 350 has an independent, double-wishbone suspension in the front with 5.9 inches of travel, paired with a swing arm and single shock in the rear. It has triple-sealed hydraulic front drum brakes and sealed, mechanical rear drum brakes. A stainless steel exhaust header and muffler are designed to resist corrosion.

Dimensions and Weight

The ATV is 78.1 inches long, 45 inches wide and 44.1 inches high, with a 49.1-inch wheelbase. Turning radius is 8.5 feet. Its seat height is 32 inches, and it has a 9.7-inch ground clearance. Dry weight -- without fluids -- is 498 lbs., and the main and auxiliary tanks can hold 3.4 gallons of fuel total. The front tires on the 2000 Rancher 350 have a 24-inch diameter and an 8-inch width. Rear tires measure 25 inches in diameter and 11 inches wide.
